In the last update, Google introduced Contacts to the sidebar of Gmail for Workspace and personal Gmail accounts. The Gmail side panel now provides a quick access to Keep, Calendar, Contacts and Tasks. Additional information is available about people within your contacts and organization as well as across Workspace products.
The new update provides following additional information:
- Contact information (Phone number & email address)
- Office & Desk Location
- Team Members
- Received Previous Email from Sender or Not

The shortcut tool for Google Contacts is now coming to Calendar, Chat, Docs, Slides, and Sheets. To access the Contacts, click on the blue icon in the web side panel and select “Open Detailed View” when you hover over the user’s information card. The new update started rolling out today and will be available across Google Platforms over coming weeks (over 15 days for complete rollout).

- Enterprise Essentials
- Enterprise Standard
- Enterprise Plus
- G Suite Basic
- G Suite Business and Education
